Where things stand
Glad In It was built by one family for its own home. It has not been designed or tested for people who use assistive technology, and it does not claim to meet any accessibility standard, including WCAG.
What is there
- Buttons and icons carry text labels a screen reader can announce.
- Text is sized for readable contrast on the app's own colors.
- Most controls are large enough to tap without precision.
- Keyboard focus is visible.
- Animation is reduced when your device asks for that.
What is not
- It has not been tested with VoiceOver, TalkBack, or any screen reader. Some screens may not read in a sensible order, and some may not read at all.
- There are no modes for color blindness. Some meaning is carried by color alone.
- The greeting, the daily verse, and tonight's dinner are set in a cursive typeface that is harder to read than the rest of the app.
- There is no voice control, no narration, and no alternative text on photos.
- Text follows your phone's size setting in most places, but not all.
If it does not work for you
Tell the person who runs your household. Where something can be fixed, it will be; where it cannot, they can help you another way.
